How to add a custom icon to the folder in windows ?

Want to customize your folder icon in windows?

Some people want to make their file explorer/desktop look cooler, if you are one of them, then you are in right place. So let's begin.

Step 1: Choose a picture that you want to make it a folder icon. It looks cooler if the image is in png. You can also download the png images from Google as per your tastes..

The ICO file format is a image file format in windows operating system.ICO files contain one or more tiny pictures at multiple sizes and color depths, specified they will be scaled suitably.In Windows, all executables that show an associate icon to the user, on the desktop, within the begin Menu, or in Windows person, should carry the icon in ICO format

I  selected a pic, which i will be further downloaded to my computer.

Step 2: Now you need to convert that image into ICO format. To do this there are numerous free web site's. Go to that website upload your selected image / add that image link, choose Ico format, then start the process. For convenience, I will give a few links to those websites below.

Download the Ico formatted file to your convenient place on your computer.

Step 3: a. Right click on the folder you want to change.

            b.Go to properties > customise > change icon > Browse > choose ico formated downloaded image.

            Then, tap on open button, then click ok, then apply, click ok

Successfully, you have changed your folder icon to the image of your choice.
